TOKYO -RIJ- (May 23, 1996) According to a news on frnto page of Thursday's The Nikkei (Nippon Keizai Shimbun, big Japaense ecomomy newspaper as well as The Wall Street Journal,) Honda to return to F1 in 1998.
It reported that Honda has started examination to return to Formula One. Honda (maybe, Honda R&D) already ordered the trial parts and they will supply Formula One engine again in 1998, 50th anniversary of Honda. Honda withdrew from F1 after end of 1992 season because sales was worth and they had to increase the budgets and engneers for enviroment and electronic car. But Honda's sales have been very good. So time has come again. "If the consensus will be made in our company, I'll agree the dicision," said Nobuhiko Kawamoto, president of Honda, reported at end of the report.
Honda will make project team for Formula One soon and will start to talk with teams, reported The Nikkei.
